Death March Memorial in Below Forest

The outdoor grounds of the Sachsenhausen, Ravensbrück and Below Memorials reopen to visitors

12. May 2021

The Sachsenhausen and Ravensbrück Memorials, which have been closed, except for a short period, since mid-December, are partially reopened to the public as of Monday, 17 May 2021. Initially, only the extensive outdoor grounds will be open to the public during normal opening hours. The exhibitions and museums will also be opened to the public, at least partially, in the near future. The open-air exhibition and the historical forest grounds at the Death March Memorial in the Below Forest will also be open again from Monday.

Educational programmes such as group tours and study days are available again as of 1 June.

Protecting health is a top priority for the Memorials Foundation when reopening its facilities. Visitors are expressly requested to strictly adhere to the applicable social distancing and hygiene rules as well as to wearing masks in order to minimise the risk of infection with the corona virus.
